Welcome to the official Himalaya Racing Team Website ! We are a professional Alaskan Dog Sled Team based north of the Arctic Circle in the small village of Bettles, Alaska. The team is driven by me, Sven Haltmann. This year we have decided to take a break from Iditarod to offer Sled Dog Excursions in the northernmost mounatin range in North America, the Brooks Range. For the past four consecutive years we have raced the 1000 mile Iditarod Trail to Nome. Here on our website you can follow our stories from the trail to feel as though you are standing on the back of the sled. A peek into the daily life of an Alaskan Dog Musher and Team .
